Hi Stu
Since there is really no way of measuring snow with our weather stations except for stations with heated rain collectors how about adding a snow depth category and a snow editor so you can manually add daily snow depths to it then there could be a snow days and depth added to the statistics like frost days
thanks

Oh, that's a good idea! I keep track of daily new snow, snow on the ground, and snow water equivalent for both for CoCoRaHS and as a NWS Snow Observer, but there's no way to get that in my web statistics or keep track of it in WeatherCat.

Added as a feature request - thanks for the suggestion. Any ideas about how you'd like to see it implemented - we don't get enough around here for me to know how it would be most useful. Something like the daily rain editor where you could add a total for a given date and then add some snow stats?
Cheers,
Stu.

Thanks Randall, I've added it as a feature request.

I haven't been on for a few days, so sorry for the delay.
Something like the rain editor sound interesting. For the National Weather Service, twice a day I report new snow depth and snow on the ground, and on Wednesdays I report the Snow Water Equivalent (I melt a core of snow.) For CoCoRaHS, I report new snow and total on the ground each morning, and SWE on Mondays.
I don't see a need for all of that, but the option to report daily new snow and have it accumulate for monthly totals would be nice. I don't see where total snow on the ground would be beneficial, as that constantly changes as we get new snow, it settles, or melts.

Hello, I do like and use the snow editor. Now, another request, how about being able to create a custom gauge to report on snow accumulations, just like rain and other events?

Added to the feature request list - thanks for the suggestion [tup]
