I would like to see a global setting to give all tags used on a website use either . (point) or , (comma) for decimals.
The current readings on my website do show mixed :o, the records tables do show points ???, and the Today-window in WeatherCat do show commas. :)
Update: ALL readings in WeatherCat itself do show commas (what I like very much!).
Cheers,
Reinhard

Hi Reinhard
That's weird I checked mine here and they are all decimal point

This is one for the boss Stu

Hi Randall,
thanks for checking on your side!
I figured out that "simple" tags (like CT$, CG$, ...) and all Statistic tags (STRECORDS$, ...) are rendered correct with a comma (,) on my website. But when an individual tag is used (STAT$ITEM:TYPE:PERIOD$), the decimals are rendered as point (.). In German speaking Countries we do use the comma for decimals, so I would like to see the individual tags rendered into comma, too.
Maybe there is a way to this goal. :D
Thanks in advance,
Reinhard

Hi Reinhard and WeatherCat fans,

Isn't this simply a problem of getting the tags consistent with the OS-X language preferences? I thought if you used Xcode, it was supposed to take care of this for you.
Perhaps Stu has some webtag strings being generated "da' old fashioned way." If so, Stu should be able to make some modest internal changes that would make all the strings consistent your OS-X language preferences.
I would hope it wouldn't be any more complex than that to get everything consistent.

I thought it is! But all I can do is to set the OSX language prefs to show a point for decimals. With this one I get a consistent look on my website. But as said earlier, I want to have commas, and it seems like the individual tags are not interested in what the OSX prefs are set to. They do display a point. :'(

Hi Reinhard and WeatherCat fans,

Looks like Stu has some strings for the web-tags being generated by some older code that doesn't use the Xcode facilities for internationalization. So it is a bug in WeatherCat. However, it should be reasonably easy for Stu to fix. When Stu gets around to doing that, then the web-tags would match your OS-X preferences precisely.
It appears all this internationalization stuff is somewhat new. Apple didn't incorporate any of that into AppleScript. That's one of reasons my AppleScripts are kind of in limbo. They were getting really overgrown with code for what they are doing. Oh well, hope to get back to all that after da' trusty wagon is finally fixed.
