Title: Disable <CMD> Q? Perhaps "are you sure" dialog?
Post by: elagache on January 20, 2013, 07:24:56 PM
Dear WeatherCat fans,  [cat]

There was a time when I had calm placid life . . . . . . . .  [bounce]

However,  . . . . . .   [banghead]

Just now I accidentally did the <CMD> Q thing on WeatherCat when I really meant to do something else. (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/D%27oh.gif)  Worse this has happened to me before.  :(

Is anyone else noticing that being a little nervous is causing you to quit WeatherCat when you really didn't mean to?

Not sure it is really worth having Stu do something, but thought I would ask.  Given that a good number of us run WeatherCat for long periods of time, would it be a good idea to not have <CMD> Q quit WeatherCat, but require people to select the menu item?  Even more extreme is the dreaded: "Are you really sure you want to quit WeatherCat?" dialog box.

Anyone else feeling the need to protect themselves from their itchy keyboard fingers?  ::)

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

I have to say that exact this thing happens to me sometimes... and I must say it wouldn't be the badest idea to give us a dialog box that asks us the question you wrote, Edouard.

 :-[ ??? :-\

Cheers,
Reinhard

I did that once when it was closing in on some milestone number of data points. I thought I was quitting something else and WeatherCat disappeared. Wha!!!!  [banghead]

Hi Edouard, Reinhard and Steve, and Stu
Yes it would be nice to have a safety net for us who get in a hurry doing things
So Stu is it possible to save us again
