Hi, I cannot get the dock icon to display Fahrenheit temperature. Even though I have this set properly in Preferences/Units and those 'linked', it still displays Celsius.
Please advise on how to fix - Celsius is useless for this old American.
Thank you,
Vicci

In preferences, "Units/Misc1" check and make sure you have set the units information. The Dock Icon uses the settings in this preference to display the readings from your station in the Dock.

Hi Vikki,
If the dock display isn't following the units you've set, try flipping the units a few times to see if that clears the problem. It might be a problems with the prefs file, sometimes toggling the settings can clear the problem, but if not, it's likely the preferences file is corrupt.
To fix this, quit WeatherCat, then rename your current preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.trixology.weathercat.plist where ~ is your home directory) to something like com.trixology.weathercat.plist_old and then launch WeatherCat and set it up again to see if the problem re-occurs.

When I click on Celsius it shows 4.0 as the temp, and 39.4 when it's "supposed" be be F. Very odd behavior. Toggling isn't helping. Before I wipe out the preferences file...will this wipe ot the station info such at lat/long/elevation information also?
-
Yes, wiping the prefs file will require the preferences to be set up again. But I'm a bit confused as you said switching the units to Fahrenheit causes the dock icon to continue to display centigrade?
-
Hi, when Units are set to F - it shows 39.2 Cal in the dock icon; when set to Celsius, it shows 4.0 Cal.
What should I be doing to get this to properly show the temperature and the correct "word" under it [vs. Cal].

Hi Vicci,
Normally under there is the 1 hour delta. If everything else is working fine, try the preference file as detailed above.

Hi, I renamed the pref file and rebuilt and same problem. I cannot get a F temperature to display in the dock icon. I guess I'll simply use the Vantage Pro 2 console when I want the real temperature. Thanks for trying to help.

PS - The "Today" window displays F just fine.

Thanks Vicci, I've raised it as a bug (although I can't reproduce it here, sometimes these are the most interesting...)
