Title: Trouble setting up
Post by: Mtn.Marty on December 05, 2012, 09:09:19 PM
I have a Davis Vantage Vue and have downloaded WeatherCat, latest version. Running system 10.8.2 on an iMac. Here's what I've done:
1. installed WeatherCat
2. Run wizard
3. downloaded usb driver off of the cd that came with the data logger and ran installation of usb driver, restarted computer

When I attempt to run the software, I get a screen saying Downloading data, but nothing happens. All the gages show zero's.
In setup mode on the Davis, the baud rate is set for 19200, which I believe is correct. I've also disconnected and reconnected the usb cable.

Would appreciate help.

Marty

Hi Marty,
Looks like you've selected the Monitor/Wizard station driver rather than the Vantage/Vue one.

Go to the Tools menu, then select Configure Station Comms. This will cause WeatherCat to forget the comms configuration and quit. Relaunch it then select the Vantage/Vue driver when you get to the comm setup window.

And welcome to the forum.

Hi Marty,
Sorry, missed this in your post - you'll also need the latest Silicon Labs drivers - the ones that come on the CD are too out of date for 10.8.

https://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/Software/Mac_OSX_VCP_Driver.zip (https://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/Software/Mac_OSX_VCP_Driver.zip)

Download and install this, then run WeatherCat and set up the comms as per the attached picture.
