Related to my Ecowitt question: I could spend about $100 more and get a new Davis Vantage Vue Sensor Suite to use with my two existing 2011 Consoles and Davis USB Datalogger. But I’m not sure it would work. I vaguely remember something about a firmware update and colored dots.
If the VV would work, it would certainly be more accurate than the Ecowitt WS90. I’m seeing very mixed reviews on that unit, mostly related to horribly inaccurate rain and wind readings. While others have no problems. One guy had a replacement right beside his original and got vastly different results on several values. 🤷♂️

VV and VP2 console *should* work: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0515/5992/3873/files/07396_028_ID_6250.pdf
With regards to Ecowitt WS90: My VP2 equipement is now 14 years old. As a precaution I have added Ecowitt WS90 plus GW3000 plus WS3910C first to have a backup just in case and second to compare the readings. I am happy with the wind readings but not so with its piezo rainfall. So I added a WH40H analog rain sensor which is much more accurate. So in case the VP2 fails I now have a reliable backup, at the costs of a fractal of a Davis equipement. BTW, you don't need the GW3000 if you have a WS3910 console or vice versa because both devices can upload to Ecowitt and both are recognized by WeatherCat.
