Title: Request for Sunshine Hours
Post by: wurzelmac on October 22, 2024, 06:34:20 AM
Hello, I would love to see the values of SunshineHours in the .cat file if possible. Just like the values of UV and SolarRadiation is visible there. Thanks in advance.
Title: Can query with the STAT$ tag. (Re: Request for Sunshine Hours)

Dear Reinhard and WeatherCat tinkerers,

Hello, I would love to see the values of SunshineHours in the .cat file if possible. Just like the values of UV and SolarRadiation is visible there. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if that would solve your problems but you can get the number of sunshine hours with the STAT$ tag.  Here is an example from page 105 of the WeatherCat manual:

Code: [Select]
Notes:
SUNSHINEHOURS can only be used with TOTAL (to find the total number of hours over a given date range)
e.g. Hours of sunshine today = STAT$SUNSHINEHOURS:TOTAL:TODAY$
is rendered as:
Hours of sunshine today = 0.52

You can use the STAT$ tag with AppleScript, so you could write a quick tool that would generate the number of sunshine hours for each day in a given part of the year.  Sorry, I'm running a mile a minute, but if you need some help with that, perhaps I could come up with something later this week.

You can use the iOS App, WeatherCatRCP, to get the Sunshine hours as follows:

WeatherCatRCP
Tab: Dial-A-Stat
Row 1 - Sunshine hours
Row 2: Total
Row 3: Today

Row 3 can also be Since 9AM, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last month, This year, Last year, This season, or All-time.

Thanks to all. I know how I can find SunshineHours within WeatherCat. The background is I want to export the data to test it in another weather program (CumulusMX). Neither exporting nor reading the .cat/.hrs file does contain SunshineHours.
