Very cool. Glad to see FedEx continuing to modernize their fleet! Surprising to me, I have zero FedEx 777s in my photo library, out of over 133 photos of 777s (mostly at KSFO (San Francisco)). Which makes sense as their nearest hub is KOAK (Oakland) and I never go to Oakland. Thanks for posting this.

Dear X-Air and WeatherCat fans of aviation,

Thanks for sharing.  Indeed it is interesting to see the modernization effort.  I suppose given your handle that you were flying mostly Airbus planes during your tenure at FedEx.  Do you know why the company is now more committed to Boeing?

Commonality of parts (lowers costs), better range (lowers costs), better purchasing deals [buy 2, get one 50% off!] (lowers costs), great capacity (lowers costs) and, did I mention lower costs. I retired well before the triple 7 arrived. Flew the Falcon, 737 (actually came with pallet-mounted passenger seats, for less than a year, sold those for a good profit [lowered costs!]), 727 (we bought the last of those produced), DC-10, and finally Airbus 300 and 310.

Seriously, thanks for the recap.  These days, businesses either make a serious effort to control their costs or . . . .  they go out of business!!
