...FedEx currently has 55 777F aircraft in its fleet (3 leased, 2 bought used), nearly twice as many as the nearest competitor in the air cargo industry. FedEx is scheduled to take delivery of [its 59th] 777F aircraft by early FY25...50 in 50!
FedEx Express Celebrates Another Milestone
50th new 777 in our 50th year of operation!
why the company is now more committed to Boeing?Commonality of parts (lowers costs), better range (lowers costs), better purchasing deals [buy 2, get one 50% off!] (lowers costs), great capacity (lowers costs) and, did I mention lower costs. I retired well before the triple 7 arrived. Flew the Falcon, 737 (actually came with pallet-mounted passenger seats, for less than a year, sold those for a good profit [lowered costs!]), 727 (we bought the last of those produced), DC-10, and finally Airbus 300 and 310.
. . . better purchasing deals [buy 2, get one 50% off!] . . .
