Title: Netatmo help required
Post by: RochesterWeather on July 27, 2023, 12:11:51 PM
Hi all,

I've had several of the cheaper weather stations WeatherCat runs over the years and have recently got fed up with my WH3080 losing connection to the outside sensors or the USB connection just giving up - usually when I'm at work so I end up with several hours of lost data.

I have lusted after Davis for a while but the lack of integrated connectivity (and, ok, my love of shiny things!) and the relative costs meant I've purchased a second hand Netatmo with wind and rain.

It wouldn't connect to WeatherCat on initial set up so I thought I might have to wait two weeks until it was visible to the world on their Weatherman: https://weathermap.netatmo.com//?zoom=13&type=rain&param=hourly&stationid=70%3Aee%3A50%3A73%3Aca%3Ade&maplayer=Map&lang=undefined (https://weathermap.netatmo.com//?zoom=13&type=rain&param=hourly&stationid=70%3Aee%3A50%3A73%3Aca%3Ade&maplayer=Map&lang=undefined)

However, WeatherCat still can't find it (I get the No Weather Station Found notification after the testing.. message).

Can anyone offer any advice, shed any light on the matter? (And before anyone suggest buying a Davis, my marital status is already in danger after the second hand Netatmo!)

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Title: Are you aware of discounts on Davis? (Re: Netatmo help required)

Sorry Rich that you ended up buying a station that is no longer supported.

Not to needle, but were you aware that Davis stations can be bought at a considerable discount from various retailers.  Back in 2009 I paid close to retail price, but these days you can get a Davis station at close half that.

Just making sure you are aware of all your options.

Cheers, Edouard
