Title: Mac OS 12.6.1
Post by: faymondo on November 12, 2022, 08:17:02 AM
Just updated my iMac to 12.6.1 and when I run weathercat it does not work.

I have seen that "Python 3" is needed but when I open weather cat there is no prompt to open it.

I have migrated my data over from another hard drive. Is this the problem ?

Thanks for any replies.

Maybe. Is this how you migrated your WC data?

Title: Which version of WeatherCat? (Re: Mac OS 12.6.1)

Dear faymondo, Blick, and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

Just updated my iMac to 12.6.1 and when I run weathercat it does not work.

Can you tell us exactly what happens when you try to launch WeatherCat?  Are there any sorts of warnings or error messages?

I have seen that "Python 3" is needed but when I open weather cat there is no prompt to open it.

Which version of WeatherCat are you running?  You should be running at least WeatherCat 3.13 otherwise it might not produce the dialogs to install Python.  See this posting from Stu the WeatherCat developer:

I have migrated my data over from another hard drive. Is this the problem ?

As Blick mentions, this could have something to do with it.

Which weather station are you connecting to with WeatherCat?  If it is a Davis station which version of macOS where you running previously?  You might need to update your station driver.  Instructions on how to do this are also on the WeatherCat Wiki:

Let us know if any of this information helps you resolve your problem.

Cheers, Edouard

This is a WAG  opposed to a SWAG,
Could it be that in your data it is referenced to the old drive and not the one it is on now?     Mine works fine.
