Title: NOAA's new supercomputers come on-line.

Dear WeatherCat users interested in tech to forecast the weather,

NOAA has a press release on their newest supercomputers:

It is part of the U.S. weather forecasting upgrade that has been underway for a while.  All the pieces aren't in place yet, but we are supposed to get forecasts which more more on par with the European model soon^*.

P.S.  [wink] . . . . . .  ^*Assuming of course that the world lasts long enough for all this work to be completed! . . . . . . .  lol(1)

Thanks for the info. Lots going in at NOAA in the hardware and software arenas.
