Post by: elagache on July 02, 2022, 12:01:24 AM
Dear WeatherCat users interested in tech to forecast the weather,

NOAA has a press release on their newest supercomputers:

https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/us-supercomputers-for-weather-and-climate-forecasts-get-major-bump (https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/us-supercomputers-for-weather-and-climate-forecasts-get-major-bump)

It is part of the U.S. weather forecasting upgrade that has been underway for a while.  All the pieces aren't in place yet, but we are supposed to get forecasts which more more on par with the European model soon*.

P.S.  [wink] . . . . . .  *Assuming of course that the world lasts long enough for all this work to be completed! . . . . . . .  lol(1)
