Title: Mac OS Monterey
Post by: Terryap on October 29, 2021, 11:41:37 AM
I expect you are already aware of this but just in case!......

I have just updated to Monterey and although WeatherCat still loaded and works fine a warning message did appear saying that WeatherCat may not work with future updates of the OS.

I updated to Monterey 12.2 yesterday and am seeing a similar message.  I think it has to do with Python sunsetting.Seems to be working fine.

This issue has been resolved in the beta testing for WeatherCat 3.2.0 - and as you said, it regards Python.

Apple has stopped bundling Python in Monterey, will probably dump other scripting languages also. The "current" version of Python in Apple's OS was 2.7 which is deprecated. If you really need Python, version 3 is available from the Xcode Command Line Tools menu.

I suspect if the program ceases to work, I will get over it.  I would hope that somewhere in the works is a fix for that, but considering prior discussions, I am not going to lose sleep over it.   I have weatherlink live to do my work , until it goes belly up.

Enjoy the snow
