Title: Hello From Thousand Oaks California
Post by: Stevev1000 on January 30, 2021, 03:15:37 AM
I am new to the forums I came looking for help after migrating to a new Mac. I’ve had a Vantage Vue online for 10+ years now. It’s not in the best location for accurate measurements, but when you live in a planned track community you have to make compromises. I am so happy I spent allot more and got the Davis Vantage Vue , and serious upgrade from the Oregon Scientific stations I had had in the past.

Welcome aboard Stevev1000. Many of us WeatherCatters migrated from another brand to Davis. Glad to have you online in the forums.

Dear SteveV, Blick, and WeatherCat station caregivers,

Welcome to the WeatherCat forum!  (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/welcome_smiley.gif)

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.

. . . I’ve had a Vantage Vue online for 10+ years now. It’s not in the best location for accurate measurements, but when you live in a planned track community you have to make compromises.

Even if you aren't in a planned community you are likely to have to make some compromises on your data collection.  It is simply part of being amateurs instead of having the extra clout of professionals.

I am so happy I spent allot more and got the Davis Vantage Vue , and serious upgrade from the Oregon Scientific stations I had had in the past.

I also upgraded to a Davis station from Oregon Scientific.  Honestly, I really needed to make that first step using a less expensive Oregon station.  I couldn't imagine spending the money for a Davis station at first.  It took that Oregon Scientific station to get me hooked.  After that, I was willing to spend the money for a Davis station!

Glad to hear that you are also a satisfied Davis owner!  By all means welcome aboard!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
