Title: Wind Speed Errors
Post by: Randall75 on June 17, 2012, 02:17:31 AM
Hi Stu
Can you think why I only get wind speed errors when there is no wind
Since running B88 we have had some kind of wind speed some of it as low as .02 miles per hour and had no errors but as soon as it goes for 2 or 3 hours with out any wind boom a wind speed error
Ran Cat 5 cable but still get wind speed errors when there is no wind.
Thanks

Howdy Randall and WeatherCat fans,

Can you think why I only get wind speed errors when there is no wind

 ;) I'm afraid Randall this error is actually coming from your piggy bank . . . . . . . . .

You still haven't saved enough to upgrade to a Davis station!!
;D

I know, I'm not being helpful but after being baked like this this - what do ya' expect!!  ;D

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Hi Randall,
There haven't been any changes to the WS23xx station driver so it's a not a change in the code that's doing this. What error are you getting?

Stu.

Hi Stu
It just comes up as an Wind Speed error in the Sensor errors and it happens when there is no wind for over 2 hrs
.
As long as there is some kind of monent it the wind speed dial I have no Wind Speed errors i also notice that there is just enough to move the wind direction when this happens but not enough for wind speed [banghead]
Thanks

Sounds like it's catching one of those >100mph gusts the WS23xx is 'famous' for, and filtering it out Randall - any new sources of RF interference in the neighbourhood maybe?

[Edit: Or it might be the windspeed went invalid  ---  will be displayed on the console for the windspeed in this case]

can weathercat filter out these WS2355 errors.
i am getting sick of manually editing out the 90 something km/h errors

i never get wind here that high so maybe a setting to filter out readings over a particular speed???

I cought my errors by replacing the original cable:

Hi xtommo,

What's the lowest erroneous wind speed you see?
