Title: Upgrading Mac OSX High Sierra and WeatherCat 1.23
Post by: Denver on December 27, 2019, 01:20:16 AM
Hello,

I am currently running Mac OSX High Sierra with WeatherCat 1.23, sending data to Weather Underground and CWOP, and everything is working fine.

I am wanting to upgrade OSX High Sierra to the Catalina version, and wondering if I should expect any issue with WeatherCat 1.23.     I realize it is an older version of WeatherCat, but it has been stable and working well for so long that I am reluctant to upgrade it.   The weather station is a Davis Vantage Vue, with the console new in 2013 and the station itself new in 2016.

Anybody foresee any issues?

Thank you,

Denver

I do not believe this is going to work for you.  :(

WeatherCat 3 is the first release using 64-bit software. Catalina is the first version of macOS that will not run 32-bit applications. Therefore, your version of WC will not run under Catalina.

Well Blicj11, that tells me what I need to know.   Looks like I need to upgrade WeatherCat 3.xx before upgrading OSX.

 Thank you !!

I personally love the new features that have been added. I think you will enjoy seeing all the new options coming from WC1 to WC3. Let us know how this adventure turns out.
