Title: Changing station hardware
Post by: michael252 on February 26, 2018, 08:16:49 PM
Hello All,

I want to replace my Envoy, which feeds WC, with a Vantage Vue console. Are there any precautions I need to take before swapping stations? I am assuming I can just shut down WC, swap stations, and restart computer and WC. Is it as easy as that?

I have a Mac Mini running High Sierra and WC 2.41.

Thanks,
Michael

Dear Michael and WeatherCat station caregivers,

Will you be swapping the Davis data logger from the Envoy to the Vue console?  If so be careful about powering the Envoy down first - including removing the batteries.  There should be no power for either device when you move the data logger.  Also take the usual precautions about static electricity when moving the logger from one device to the other.

Beyond that yes it should be a routine transfer.

Let us know how it turns out.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Thanks for the response, Edouard.
The Vue already has its own data logger that will remain with it, no swap out necessary.

Thanks again,
Michael

Update: Just as Edouard said...simple change, running with no hiccups.
