Title: Mini vMac: a miniature early Macintosh emulator
Post by: elagache on August 14, 2017, 11:17:36 PM
Dear WeatherCat Macintosh oldtimers,

When I bought my first Mac II in 1988, it came with OS 6.  OS 7 was already a major upgrade and I looked forward to it.  Today I cannot really remember what using a Mac was like back then.  If you are curious, there is now a software emulator of the original Motorola 680X0 architecture:  Mini vMac:

They offer as an example this screenshot of a Macintosh Plus running OS 7.5.5

I made a quite attempt to download their standard version and wouldn't make it work, but then I hardly tried at all either.  If somebody has a need to run some really old Mac software, this could be a real blessing.  If you just want to make a stroll down Macintosh memory lane this most certainly should do the trick!

Cheers, Edouard
