Title: TextWrangler
Post by: Blicj11 on August 10, 2016, 11:33:52 PM
Bare Bones Software has released a new version of TextWrangler. I know many of us use it as our main all purpose editor. It's still free, the new version is 5.5.1 and requires Mac OS X 10.9.5 or later.

This is a fairly major update. Here are the release notes ==> http://www.barebones.com/support/textwrangler/current_notes.html

Dear Blick, dfw, and WeatherCat software tickerers,

Bare Bones Software has released a new version of TextWrangler. I know many of us use it as our main all purpose editor.

. . . .

This is a fairly major update. Here are the release notes ==> http://www.barebones.com/support/textwrangler/current_notes.html

I never noticed that it even supports SFTP!  I wonder how Bare Bones implemented it . . . . . . . .

Cheers, Edouard

Good news for TextWrangler users: you can switch to BBEdit and use it for free, even when the demo runs out.

Ok,
after knowing that a *demo mode* would work forever I moved over to BBEdit on my three machines. And I am playing with the thought to buy one license for my main Mac. Just to say thanks to them for letting me use TextWrangler for a very long time without dues but full support.

Ditto: Just dowloaded the BBEdit demo. Thanks for the heads up. We knew they were going to pull the plug on TextWrangler, but not when. I  also did not know that you could continue to use the Text Editing feature of BBEdit without a paid license after the demo expired.
