Title: A thousand words?
Post by: xairbusdriver on April 07, 2016, 06:41:35 PM
If one image is worth a thousand words, a video must be worth a million? [rolleyes2] Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration... OTOH, don't forget you have a built-in movie maker that can record your iDevice as well as any part of your Mac screen. The file will be much larger than any text file, of course, However, seeing the steps you take to do something may be a lot easier than reading many steps with terms that might be misunderstood. Here's a short description on how to do this, at least in more recent versions of the OS:
<How to present and record your iPhone or iPad on your Mac (https://www.macissues.com/2016/04/07/how-to-present-and-record-your-iphone-or-ipad-on-your-mac/)>, MacIssues, Topher Kessler

Thanks for the nice tip.

Yes, pictures = 1,000, movies = 1,000,000, at least in storage needed to save them :)

Dear X-Air, dfw, and WeatherCat technology documentation collectors,

<How to present and record your iPhone or iPad on your Mac (https://www.macissues.com/2016/04/07/how-to-present-and-record-your-iphone-or-ipad-on-your-mac/)>, MacIssues, Topher Kessler

Okay thanks.  Not sure I'll ever use it but it is a nifty trick!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

P.S. I went ahead and moved this topic to the "General Computing/Macintosh" topic so that people could find it more easily.

No wonder I couldn't find it!

Didn't work here. On step 6, "Choose your iOS device from the menu that displays," no iOS device appears. My iPhone was plugged into a USB port and awake. I give up.

What version of QuickTime Player are you using?
Although it didn't seem to matter here, but there is a warning to make sure any app that auto opens (iTunes, Photos, etc.) when you connect an iDevice should be Quit.
May not work on older iDevices.
Also, it may not work in northern Arkansas... too many hills, ya know. :P

Nope! Too late. I already gave up.

OK. I'll try again tomorrow. ? maybe.

It would be really useful to me if it could capture the iPhone's camera over WiFi.
