Title: Anyone using Ambient Weather's WEATHERBRIDGE?
Post by: elagache on February 17, 2016, 11:38:01 PM
Dear WeatherCat gadget freaks and "true believers" . . .

We were facing a crisis at this household.  The nut that secures the propane tank to our Weber barbecue cracked.  Since we use the barbecue to cook Papa Murphy's pizza (http://www.papamurphys.com/), even in winter, this was an intolerable situation.  Today I finally got around to locating and attempt to purchase the replacement part.  Google suggested a number of small companies, but ultimately who had the part at the best price? Amazon of course.

What does this have to do with Weather?  After I ordered the part, Amazon offered its suggestions of other goodies I could buy and one of the items was a Davis Vue station equipped with WEATHERBRIDGE.  What in the blankety blank (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/badwords.gif) is a WEATHERBRIDGE?  Checking the Davis website offered no clue, but Google once more steered me to Ambient Weather and this product listing:

http://www.ambientweather.com/amweatherbridge.html (http://www.ambientweather.com/amweatherbridge.html)

Hmm, looks very similar to MeteoBridge, but it didn't use the same name.  However, scrolling to the bottom of the description reveals some very distressing news.  WEATHERBRIDGE can connect to WeatherSnoop while continuing to providing upload services.

(http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/badwords.gif) . . . What!?!?  WeatherSnoop doing something WeatherCat can't!  Why d'em dirty!! . . . . (http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/rant.gif)

This was a matter I was not going to leave unchallenged!

A bit more Internet search brought me to the MeteoBridge website:

http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Home (http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Home)

After reading a bit further I found this link on where to buy a MeteoBridge:

http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Where_to_Buy%3F (http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Where_to_Buy%3F)

At the top of the list of where to buy a MetroBridge is the Ambient Weather version.

I know there are people on this forum using some sort of MetroBridge model successfully with WeatherCat.  Thus, the obvious question.  Has anybody gotten the Ambient Weather version of this device - WEATHERBRIDGE - working with WeatherCat?

Come on gang!
Together we can right this wrong and secure WeatherCat's place as the top cat in Mac weather software!!  [WCSmall]

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Old topic. Just responding for posterity sake.

Yes.

I bought my "Meteobridge" flashed by AmbientWx and bought the "Weatherbridge" product, which is just a Meteobridge TP-Link router sold by Ambient with Meteo software on it for US customers.

Cheers.
