Title: Dale from Austin Texas
Post by: dalet5 on April 11, 2012, 12:01:56 PM
I have a Davis Vantage Vue sitting on a 17 ft mast in my backyard.  I bought and installed LWC as i have a Mac Mini at home.  Came looking for updates to SW yesterday and discovered that LWC has gone away and in its place is something new.  I am curious to know more about this SW package and how well it works.  I have my station up on Wunderground as Little Thicket Tx.

Hi Dale, and welcome to the WeatherCat forum!

WeatherCat is the continuation of LWC, and can inject your existing data without a hitch. It fixes any niggling problems that LWC had, especially those related to using Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, and adds new features and tags. Think of it simply as LWC 3 with a different name.

Give it a try, as the current beta is very stable and just a week or two from release.
Steve

Hello Dale and WeatherCat fans  [cat]

Welcome to the forum!! (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/welcome_smiley.gif)

Steve has said it all.  WeatherCat is basically LWC "2.5" - You'll feel right at home.

I have my station up on Wunderground as Little Thicket Tx.

I tried to look up your station on Weather Underground, but their search wasn't up to the task.  Could you give us a link to your Wunderground site to follow?  It is always fun to see what the weather is in the various spots where WeatherCat is installed.  [cat]

Welcome again!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Here is the link to my station:

Where exactly do i go to download the latest beta version.
Is it a seamless installation or will i break something and then spends hours debugging?
thanx,
dale
