Title: Is this an error notification?
Post by: RochesterWeather on September 21, 2015, 08:25:33 PM
Hi all!

I often see this in my log:

WS23xx driver - Get channel value hit default!

Is it the sign of a problem (the exclamation mark leads me towards this!) or not?

Thanks in advance,

Yours,

Rich

Dear Rich and WeatherCat station troubleshooters,

I often see this in my log:

Unfortunately, I don't have an Le Crosse station so I don't know what this means.  If Stuart Ball (the WeatherCat developer,) doesn't reply to this thread, you might try contacting WeatherCat support directly because it is a question with a simple and short answer.

How old is your weather station?  Since these Le Crosse stations have been out of production for a long time, I can't imagine this is a "spring chicken."  If you haven't already started, you might want to start saving a few pennies in your "piggy bank" for the purchase of a replacement station.  Weather instruments don't last forever and since your station is discontinued, trying to find repair parts will be a very difficult task indeed.

Regards, Edouard

It isn't anything to worry about - it means something is asking for a channel that doesn't exist on your hardware - normally seen when hardware is changed. It'll be something like a custom graph/gauge, a tag or a tool such as the banner generator or current conditions calculator that is calling for the data.
