In preferences I have 'Create Daily Movies' and 'Keep Daily movies for 7 Days' ticked. I don't fully understand why movies are only saved in one hour segments.
I did a forum search and there is discussion regarding joining the movies and/or playing them all together to show the whole day, but nothing about creating just one movie.
I use SecuritySpy and that does time lapse movies for the whole day and you can also set a schedule so that recording only takes place during daylight hours.
Am I missing something here, as I don't really see the use of a one-hour time lapse movie which has a playback duration of about 1 second.

Dear Gary and WeatherCat movie fans,

You are correct, you can only get movies that capture the previous hour. I had looked into ways of trying to automatically splice the films together using some sort of utiity, but I never found anything that looked reasonable.
You can get the 24 hour video if you upload your webcam data to Weather Underground. That's how I was doing it on my website, but it seems the URL has changed so it isn't displaying correctly at the moment on my website. Weather Underground does appear to have a new link to do this if you check on the website associated with your station.
I suppose the 1 hour length is a legacy of the days when Internet speeds were much slower. This sounds like a good feature request for a future version of WeatherCat.
Cheers, Edouard

Edouard,
Many thanks for the reply, all understood. It's not a major issue but certainly would be a 'nice to have' on a future version of WeatherCat. I'm not too worried about uploading movies to the web, but just to view them locally.
I do upload my webcam captures to Weather Underground by FTP using WeatherCat, but I don't see any option to view these as a time lapse movie.

I had to do a little digging but here is the webpage of your webcam:
http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/Ruyton/2/video.html?month=02&year=2015&filename=current.mp4
To embed the video the provide the following HTML:
