Title: measuring snow
Post by: Mtn.Marty on November 01, 2014, 12:11:44 PM
So with WC 2, we can now add snowfall to the data. Great, but I'm unsure how to go about this. We've had about 2 inches of snow here this morning so far, but none has stuck to the road surfaces, which are too warm. So, do I report the 2 inches? Also, I imagine I would wait until the end of the calendar day to record snow as more is coming down. Then it might change to rain later. Confused. [cold1]

Just entered my 2 inches, just as a trial and now wonder if this data is visible anywhere. It doesn't show in the controller window.

Hello Mtn.Marty,
take a look into the Statistics window (tools > statistics) and open the section Year Over Year. School down the window and you should see Snow and Snowdays.
Hope this helps,
Reinhard

Snow is also added to the monthly stats/report and is available to web tags via the SNOW and SNOWDAYS types - for example:
Snow this season: STAT$SNOW:TOTAL:THISSEASON$
Snow this year: STAT$SNOW:TOTAL:THISYEAR$
Snow this week: STAT$SNOW:TOTAL:THISWEEK$
Snow today: STAT$SNOW:TOTAL:TODAY$
Snow tomorrow: STAT$SNOW:TOTAL:TOMORROW$ (J/K)
Snow days this year: STAT$SNOWDAYS:TOTAL:THISYEAR$
Snow days last year: STAT$SNOWDAYS:TOTAL:LASTYEAR$
