The remnants of Hurricane Simon brought .99" of much needed rain yesterday and last night [thunder]. 70 % chance of rain today but it looks like the storm is moving east. Rain was a ground soaking light drizzle most of the time. So far 2.20" of rain from 3 hurricane remnants this fall. Otherwise it would of been a extremely dry fall. Here is hoping for another Baja California tropical storm [cheers1]

Howdy Jeff and WeatherCat western drought watchers,

Good for you! :)
We got plenty of threats, but never got more than 0.01" out of the relatively active Eastern Pacific hurricane season this year. Honestly, I am ambivalent to moisture from hurricanes. We are close enough to the coast that if a hurricane managed to head straight up our way, we would get a very destructive amount of rainfall.
However, so far this rainy season is off to a more promising start. We got some rain in September and the current forecast is for some rain next week, perhaps even two storms. If we could get a steady series of moderate storms that would be the equivalent of your ground soaking drizzle.
Here's to wishing for a end of the western droughts! (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/cheers.gif)
