Dear WeatherCat fans,
As promised, I have downloaded the August predictions of National Weather Service - Climate Predication Center (just like last month.)
Here is the forecast map for temperatures in August:
Here is the precipitation forecast map for August:
Now here are the 90 day forecasts (roughly 3 months.)
The temperature forecast map for August, September, and October:

The equivalent precipitation forecast map for August, September, and October.

All these maps come from the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/ (http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/)
There are also 6-10 day and 8-14 day outlooks but I decided this is too short a period to keep track of. However, you may want to keep an eye on these as well.
Now that July has passed, feel free to post your own observations as to whether or not the July predictions were accurate. You can see what the predictions were on this thread:
http://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=1318.0 (http://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=1318.0)
That's the place to make your comments about July's actual climate. I'll add my own observations in a bit, but I'm going to wait for the official National Weather Service Monterey office to put out their official climate summary first. The weather has been so chaotic around here, that I would like to see what the official account of July was before attempting to hazard a guess as to what July was like.
Hope you'all find this interesting.
Cheers, Edouard [cheers1]

Hi Jeff, Blick, and WeatherCat climate watchers,
You are most welcome. I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner. Last fall I was watching the forecasts but I didn't keep them to validate my suspicions.

Ah yes, but as the old saying goes: caveat emptor! If the forecasts turn out wrong it wouldn't do you any good!
