Is this possible. I've been a Wunderground station for over a year now and I'm wondering if its possible/desirable to also upload to CWOP? Interested in thoughts.

Yes! By all means. I have been using both from the beginning. I think many of the board participants do as well. You'll get a running quality of data analysis from CWOP.
-
Yes. Wunderground, now owned by The Weather Channel, has a prettier data presentation - and it will be even more pretty when the beta goes live, but CWOP provides data quality control comparisons with other stations in the area. The CWOP data analysis recently helped me figure out that one of my sensors was putting out rubbish data.
-
Thanks folks. I think I'll get started doing this. I'm keeping my computer on anyway reporting to WG, might as well also do CWOP as well.

Hi Blick,
I just discovered that the Beta now has Graphs&History as well as NearbyPWS enabled. I think I remember that this was not so yesterday. :D And they do have pretty cool graphs... [tup]

Hi Marty
Just sign up for CWOP and get a Station ID and put it in the Cat and you should be good to go
It might take a couple of days before your data starts showing up at CWOP
Hope this helps
cheers

Reinhard and all other WeatherCar CWOPers:
You are right. The beta was updated within the last couple of hours. It is a nice improvement.
-
Sorry, I should have included this in the previous post. When you select your PWS on the new Wunderground beta, and click on graphs, you can move your mouse across the graph and it will reveal the specific weather data readings for the point in time at which your mouse is hovering. Nicely done WU.
-
Yea, really cool.
If you click on Nearby PWS you can compare some your station values to those in the neighborhood. I had to zoom a little out to find some stations in my area... ::)
Oh, if anyone does not know how to access the new dashboard: http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=ITIROLPR2 (replace with your personal ID!)
Cheers,
Reinhard

Hi WeatherCat Family
When i talked to WU on the phone about 3 months ago they told me that The WeatherChannel was going to invest some time and money in to WU for the PWS so they could use more of the data for their use also and it looks like they are

Hey, they've added frontal boundary mapping to the Wundermap, too!
-
Dear Marty, Herb, Blick, Reinhard, Randall, and WeatherCat fans,
Thanks for the update on the Wunderground dashboard beta. Yes the new graph feature is very nice indeed! [tup]
However, they don't call it beta for nothing. Somehow between the old version and the beta, my station appears to have picked up an UV sensor!! ::)

Well, on the bright side, it's a very inexpensive way to obtain a sensor.

Hmm, it is a bit puzzling. If it was a nonsense value that would be clearly a bug. However, it is giving a value that would be consistent with the cloudy conditions right now. Maybe I spoke too soon and it isn't a bug. Could Weather Underground be "guesstimating" the UV value from the amount of solar radiation?
We should keep an eye on this one.
