Tonight, a term I use loosely, as it is now 3:00 in the morning, I followed the Wiki and moved my WeatherCat installation to a new computer. It worked! The only thing that did not come over with the weathercat.plist was my FTP password. Everything else migrated and I am now running on a new iMac with Mavericks. Now for some sleep.

Congratulations!

Dear Blick, Reinhard, and Weather fans,

;)
Hmm, you mean you spent 6+ hours to migrate WeatherCat to a new computer?
Ya' must have been goin' about it da' HARD way! [banghead] [biggrin]
I just swapped my solid state drive into my refurbished 2011 MacBook Pro on Saturday and bingo, I was up and running in less than an hour! [computer]
It worked!
Seriously, glad that things worked out for you! [tup]
It does sound like a long time to copy files though. Did you run into any surprises? (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/computer_sock_it_to_me.gif)
I am now running on a new iMac with Mavericks.
Honestly, from what I'm hearing about Mavericks, I think that staying with Snow Leopard is more of a feature than a bug! :o Sure am glad a burned a DVD of Mountain Lion. When I finally upgrade, I'll probably only go that far until somebody tells me that the surf has calmed down on Marvericks.
;) . . . After all, scuba divers really don't go for big waves anyway!! (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/Scuba-smiley-emoticon-small.gif)

Ha ha! The Cat didn't take 6 hours. It took less than 15 minutes for WeatherCat. What took 6 hours was copying my iPhoto Library and my iTunes.
I decided not to use Migration Assistant so I could assure myself that I have a clean install of everything.
The WeatherCat install was fast, clean and neat. I was pretty stoked when I clicked on the Cat and it started to purr. Love this software.

Okay, now I get why it took so long.

Ain't that the truth!! [tup] WeatherCat might even change the mind of dog lovers [cat]. . . . . . almost! [biggrin]
