Hello All,
This morning my Vantage Pro 2 had a failure of the temperature/humidity sensor. Of course instead of just not reporting data, it is spitting out temperature values about 50?F below what the actual temperature is. Once I get a replacement what is the best way to remove this erroneous data from my WC database? Is there a recommended procedure or just a brute-force deletion approach?

I don't remember if you are one of the leading-edges using SQL, but if you aren't there are instructions on how to edit the data files starting on page 156 of the WeatherCat manual. If it isn't a lot of hours of bad data, maybe you are better off to just get on with it and do it "by hand" using your favorite text editor.

Looks like I have some time to get records cleaned up. Had to send my entire Vantage Pro 2 back to Davis for a full system overhaul. Looks like my Integrated Sensor Suite board when crazy and died.
It is driving me crazy not having my weather station data!

Wow! At least that used to be so rare! When did you buy your VP-2?
Sure hope that Davis hasn't allowed their quality control to slip.

Hi All,
I cannot complain about my Vantage Pro 2. It has been going strong since 2007 and this is the first issue I have had. Davis stepped up on this too. I could have got a new ISS unit which might have fixed the problem but I learned that Davis offers a full system refurbishment for $100 plus shipping. As the new ISS unit would have be $80 and my equipment is 7+ years old I choose the refurbishment. The biggest problem is I am in Maryland and Davis Instruments is near San Francisco so a lot of time is lost just is shipping. Davis states they will replace/update all of the sensors and regardless if one sensor or all sensors are bad it will still cost only the $100. They also state that once they get the equipment they will complete their work in 3-5 days.
At this point I am just waiting and hoping this all works out for the best. I will update this thread to let everyone know how this all turns out.
Now time to delete some bad data and maybe make some updates to my website.

Yep, there are a lot of stories over on WXforum about refurbished units. It doesn't seem to matter how bad the one you send in is, it will be like brand new when it comes back. They replace anything that isn't up to snuff.

Hi All,
I am happy to report I am back online. Davis did a great job getting everything resolve. As a bonus for the first time in years I don't have that annoying "low station battery" warning on my console!
Now mounting the station in 15?F weather was PAINFUL! [freeze]
