Title: Retroactively changing underground and station data?

During heavy rain here this morning I noticed no rain recorded. So outside I go, take the mast down and find pine needles in the gage. Removed them and now it's working again. Can I go back into the VantageVue data and Wunderground data and correct things with an estimate of the rainfall? If so, how? Thanks much,

WeatherCat has a very easy to use Daily Rain Editor in the Tools pull-down menu. This tool will allow you to fix your WeatherCat accumulated Daily Rain totals. See Page 44 in the manual.

As for Wunderground, you can delete rain data on their site, but I know of no way to edit data.

thanks Blick. I just found the daily rain editor before reading your post. I understand that I have to wait until tomorrow to edit today's rain though. Thanks. Now to research Wunderground some more.

Hi Mt Marty
 After you have corrected the the rain amounts with the daily rain editor and are satisfied with the amount
you can then go in to the your Library/ Application Support/ WeatherCatTemp and edit the WeatherCatLastWundergroundUpload.plist to resend your data to WU and it will most of time correct the data at WU

Won't work for a daily rain edit Randall -  when WeatherCat is getting the daily rain, it first looks for an edit, if it exists it uses that, otherwise it goes to the data as recorded.

Thanks all, but here's a further problem. I changed the daily rainfall for yesterday's rain from 1.70 inches to 2.71, using a friends nearby station data and my own estimates and it took the new data. However, the graphs do not update. I even tried making new basic and custom graphs and everything uses the old data point. Why?

A rain edit affects the daily rain as far the stats go - it doesn't alter the recorded data (which is the data plotted by the graphs).
It wouldn't be possible to automatically alter the recorded data as it doesn't know when or how heavy the rain was falling on that particular day.
