I would like to upload my banner every ten minutes. In the Banner Generator I have the following settings:
Generate A New Image Every: 10 Minutes
FTP TO Custom Web: Checked
In WeatherCat Preferences | Online | Custom Web, I have these settings:
Update Web Pages Every: 10 Minutes
Sync. To Weather Fetch: Checked
My banner gets uploaded every 10 minutes most of the time. Sometimes the interval is much longer. Last night one interval was 18 minutes. After looking through my log I made a hypothesis that when I make a manual change to my Banner, the current interval can sometimes be interrupted and the ten-minute "countdown" starts over. (I live in snow country and because the Current Conditions Calculator cannot handle multiple variables, I manually override the condition in my banner to Snow. I also manually enter snowfall and depth).
However, I made some manual changes to it this morning and the 10-minute interval uploaded right on time.
Can anyone shed light on the occasional variance from the desired pattern?

Hi Blick,
The upload of banners is independent of everything else - they get added to the aux. ftp queue and assuming that's empty will go there and then (what the main custom web is doing doesn't affect it - these go out on the main FTP queue). If there's files ahead of it in the aux. queue then it'll just wait until it makes its way to the head of the queue before being uploaded.
(It's not quite a simple as I've described above - when performing an upload, WeatherCat will batch together all files with the same destination in that queue into one FTP upload transaction - but the principle is the same, if an upload is in progress for that queue then new additions just have to wait)
Also check your browser cache - sometimes they hang on to the old image.
