Title: Is anyone runnin Boinc?
Post by: ddrankin on December 02, 2013, 11:30:55 PM
Is anyone running Boinc (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/) on their WeatherCat computer?  Any issues?  I was thinking of starting up the Quake Catcher client under Boinc again but I didn't know if anyone had tried it before or if it would cause any issues.

I have been now for a couple of years. No issues with BOINC, but be sure to get the latest version, especially if you are using OS 10.9 Mavericks. Note that the live viewer app. QCNLive does not work on Mavericks at this point.

Thanks.  I have been holding off updating to Mavericks on the weather computer.

I'm running BOINC with Mavericks, no issues that I'm aware of.

I'm using BOINC with the quake catcher app and usb dongle without a problem with Mavericks. It is a low cpu use client.  I do not have it running on my WeatherCat Mac as yet.
