Hi,
I seem to remember reading somewhere that Weathercat has active processes that run on the Mac even when it is in sleep mode. I just installed Weathercat yesterday, and it was working fine at the end of the day. This morning I was surprised to see that Weathercat stopped updating last night when the Mac went into sleep mode. The log output shows the following,
12:09:59 AM 19-Nov-2013: ***WARNING*** This Mac is going to sleep, WeatherCat will not issue any email alerts.
8:22:14 AM 19-Nov-2013: WeatherCat was asleep for 492 minutes and missed 492 updates. Re-initializing.
So the question is how to I configure Weathercat processes to continue even when the Mac is in sleep mode? One reason that I chose Weathercat is because of this feature...
Thank you,
Denver

Hi Denver,
WeatherCat can't run whilst your Mac is asleep. It isn't recommended to allow your computer sleep whilst WeatherCat is running - USB to serial converters may or may not cope with it and later Mac's occasionally wake up to briefly check mail and perform other tasks before going back to sleep again. Either quit WeatherCat before the Mac goes to sleep, shutdown instead of sleep or just let the display sleep.

Ok, thanks. Just trying to increase the lifespan of the computer. I'll sleep the console and see how it works out.

Denver,
Do what most of us do; let the Mac run 24/7, but have the display shut off after whatever time you desire.
