Connect to the IoT
« on: April 13, 2019, 01:23:16 AM »
WeatherCat connects to weather stations, why not have it connect to the Internet of Things (IoT)?. Currently, one can place a device containing a suite of environmental sensors in a remote location. The device sends its measurements to the Cloud and one can read the measurements with a web browser. The web browser can also send signals to the devices.

Here is a description of a project that does this: https://www.hackster.io/Arduino_Genuino/your-environmental-data-on-arduino-iot-cloud-4e29bf There are only two components and their total cost is about $100USD.

The WeatherCat feature request is to query a Cloud server to capture, record, and display environmental data from one or more IoT devices.
