I have this up and running on both an iPhone 5s and an Apple watch 2. Works as explained on local network (when I am on WiFi at home). Not clear how to query the weather station when I am out and about, but that likely has to do with setting it up to be exposed to the web, which I don't think I have done.
This is set in the WeatherCat for iPhone Settings:
- Open WeatherCat for iPhone
- Tap "Settings" in the upper-right corner.
- Select Network - Internet 1 or Internet 2
- Enter the url for your WeatherCat server.
Port Forwarding must be enabled on your router. See WeatherCat Clients in the WeatherCat Wiki (wiki.trixology.com) for information on how to do that.
You will also need a static IP address or a DYN address (like trixology-test.dyndns.org) for the computer running WeatherCat.
You can leave the Setting on Internet 1 or 2 all the time. If you are home, WeatherCat/iPhone will find your local server. When away from home, WeatherCat/iPhone will use the Internet to access your server.
