Dear WeatherCat shutterbugs who aren't
early birds, . . .
Okay, okay, so getting up before dawn isn't your style. You can get into this photographing your weather instruments stuff by taking advantage instead of the evening light and perhaps another celestial body - the Moon. How about a picture like this?
This is a case where a little post processing might make it even
"mor' bettr'" but I decided to leave it just as it was taken. I had an awful lot of trouble lining up the Moon at the top of the tree and keeping the mast of anemometer parallel to the edge of the frame. This is the old-fashioned sort of photographic skill that everyone needs to have to get beyond mediocre photos.
Don't have time to take pictures like this -
no excuse! You can find out were the Moon is using either websites or various apps. Given my anemometer, I know that I need to take pictures with objects rising. So I checked to see when the Moon was rising so I had some idea when I might be able to take pictures like this. In this case, I had finished preparing the ingredients for dinner and had a few minutes before warming up the pan. That was time enough to snag this photo!
So don't be intimidated and . . . .
give it a try! Cheers, Edouard
