I was fumbling around on ambientweatherstore.com trying to price a rain collector heater, when I noticed this interesting little device from Davis called a WindScribe Ultrasonic Wind Meter.

Just curious, because this is the first time I've seen this, but am I the only one who didn't know about it? Not that I've got to have one, or anything. I'm just amazed that Davis is offering an instrument like this.

OH, by the way. It appears as though you can't use the rain collector heater if you use the solar power kit. Is that true? ? Why? ? Is there a work around?

EDIT: Oops! Never mind about the rain collector heater questions. It seems the statement, "Not for use with Solar Power Kit." is a little ambiguous. And I'm perhaps a little naive.
