Title: Dock Icon Shows
Post by: awilltx on July 23, 2017, 02:46:15 PM
I noticed the last time it rained that the dock icon is actually showing precipitation RATE instead of the accumulated precipitation. Can this be changed or another preference added for both?

Thanks,

Alan

What happens if you UN-check the "Precipitation" choice. Quit WC (some apps only check/read their Prefs file on first opening). Restart WC and let it run for a minute or so (just noting that the icon actually cycles through all the selections). Then re-check the "Precipitation" choice and see if it shows "None/No rain today/0/whatever" (assuming it is not raining, of course). I also assume (I like to live dangerously!) that WC is reporting rain rates and amounts correctly everywhere else?

Dear Alan, X-Air, and WeatherCat feature-o-holics,

I noticed the last time it rained that the dock icon is actually showing precipitation RATE instead of the accumulated precipitation.

I think the rationale is that the rate is more important in terms potential hazards than the overall accumulated rainfall.  It is a high rate that might require some sort of a urgent response.

Can this be changed or another preference added for both?

Hey, you can always ask.  You'll just have to see what Stu thinks!  :D

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

I guess it made it to the request list...or the bit bucket.
