Just use a custom alert. (Re: External Humidity Alert)

Hello The Riegers and WeatherCat fans,

I can't seem to find the code for the External Humidity alert. [sweat2]

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by a code for the external humidity alert.  Do you already have a custom alert and want to display that on your website?

If you are just trying to create a custom alert, they are described starting about page 106 in the WeatherCat manual.  A custom alert can include external humidity as a condition:

There is a long menu of possible conditions that can be tested for, here is where you'll find external humidity:

Is that enough to solve your problem?

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Hello and thank you for your reply.

What I would like to see is the External Humidity reading in the "Send An Email With The Following Text".  The software seems to have every other reading, the Davis Instrument can give, except the external humidity.

This reading is of great importance as I grow orchids and need to maintain the humidity for them.

I look forward to your direction.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Have you tried a custom alert? (Re: External Humidity Alert)

Dear Riegers and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

What I would like to see is the External Humidity reading in the "Send An Email With The Following Text".  The software seems to have every other reading, the Davis Instrument can give, except the external humidity.

Okay, I'm confused.  A WeatherCat custom alert can send an email.  WeatherCat can generate a custom alert for a particular humidity level.  It should be the perfect way to solve your problem.  Have you read the section manual and looked at the screenshots above?

Or is your problem that you have setup a custom alert and it isn't working as you desire?

I've never used external humidity in a custom alert, but I have 19 custom alerts and they all work fine.  You can use them to send emails or even to run a script.

Please do help us understand what is impeding you from getting WeatherCat to send the desired email.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Sorry and thank you again for your support,

What I am asking is when there is an email alert sent to me via email, I would like it to include the humidity in the message body of the event.

As you can see in the attached screen shot there is no External Humidity code (or instance IH$=Internal humidity) option to add to the "Send An Email With The Following Text"

Thank you again Edouard for your attention to my query.

Kind regards,
The Rieger's   [cheers1]  [beer]

Okay, sorry my confusion as well.  Okay indeed that is a feature request and I hope Stu will add it to the queue.

This is actually in since 2.2.0, but it hasn't been tested and hence not documented yet.

Use H$ for the external humidity and dH$ for the delta value.

[cheer] Well done, I have added "Humidity: H$" and it worked.   [cheers1]

To be honest I don't know what the dH$ for the delta value is for.

Thanks for the fantastic software and support you all do...

Excellent, thanks for reporting back.

dH$ will be replaced with the 1 hour external humidity change.

Finding 1 hour delta's very useful (Re: External Humidity Alert)

Dear Riegers, Stu, and WeatherCat "power users,"

dH$ will be replaced with the 1 hour external humidity change.

At the risk of hijacking this thread a bit off topic, I wanted to thank you Stu for including the 1 hour deltas on the WeatherCat current daily summary window.  These valves give you a quick sense of how fast things are changing and if you get used to monitoring them, you can get a good idea of how the day is going to unfold.

Cheers, Edouard
