Greetings from Doonan, Queensland Australia.
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:26:03 PM »
Hello to all Weather Catters,

I'm a new user and forum member. My name is Adam and I am located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia (Doonan, west of Noosa). We live here on an acreage, where it is usually hot and almost always humid (80-99%). Our winters are dry with warm days (22c) and our summers are hot, wet and very humid. Summer days are most often 30c+. Spring, summer and autumn see an active thunderstorm season, many of which are severe with VERY heavy rain, hail and associated destructive winds.

I have a wireless, fan aspirated Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus with UV & Solar, wireless weather envoy/weatherlinkIP. I have traditionally run PC based weatherlinkIP software but am now moving to a 27" mac running WC.

Adam.

Queensland or Queenstown?  There's a Queenstown in Australia which is in Tasmania (very, very far from here) and a Queenstown in New Zealand.

Ah good old NZ. Or "un zud" with a New Zealand accent. Not coming to Australia during the trip? Hell of a long way from USA to NZ without then coming to AU. Short flight from NZ to AU. I love the USA. We did a 5 week 10000km road trip there about 4 years back. Loved it. You'll have a great time in NZ.

We will be in Aus for about 2 weeks. We'll be in Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, and the Flinders region for 4 days before ending our trip in Sydney for a couple of days. Leaving in an hour!

Sounds like a good trip! You'll have a great time. Safe travels....

I was just looking at your location map and note a few coincidences. I see you're in Nth Carolina. My wife has family in Louisville Kentucky to your NW. Also on the map I see there is a place called Black Mountain near by. We too have a locality called Black Mountain not far away. I also note you have a place called Marshall close by. That's my dogs name :)
