Unable to connect to WeatherCat forum from Comcast network

Dear WeatherCat faithful,

It if seems like I have been "absent without leave" from the WeatherCat forum - well there is an explanation - or what will have to pass for it.  Yesterday afternoon I had started a reply to a posting when I could no longer connect to Athena.  I continued to try to connect for about an hour before I ran out of time and had to give up.

This afternoon I ran into the same problem, but had noticed an email from Tapatalk which strongly suggested that the forum wasn't down.  When I use my AT&T cellular connection to the Internet I can indeed reach the forum.  That is how I am writing this posting.  However, that is clumsy and expensive.  Since I was able to connect to the WeatherCat forum moments before the failure, I assume there is some sort of equipment failure between our Comcast network and Trixology.  I hope it will be repaired soon.   In the meantime, you'all will just have to amuse yourself without me.

As I've said way too often on this forum: "such are da' conditions that prevail . . . . "

Oh well, . . . Edouard

"Comcast" may be monolithic, but it is composed of numerous "little" pieces. Please contact them and strenuously complain. I am on a Comcast supplied wire accessing the Athena.trixology domain as I write this. Comcast needs to get their act together. Period.

Thanks for the encouragement.  As it turns out the bottleneck was somewhere in the UK.  I was able to confirm this using WhatRoute.  Here is the trace:

It turned out that the hosting service for Trixology had locked me out using their firewall.  Stu was able to get me back on the "good graces" list.

So I'm baaack! . . .  :)

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Glad to have you back online.

Is WhatRoute 64-bit or 32?

xairbusdriver:
WhatRoute has a terrific display! ThU5:-)

You can get the raw info from Network Utility->Traceroute, which seems to have been hidden in /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/Network Utility.app, at least in macOS 10.12 Sierra.  I have an alias stored in my Utilities directory, but why did Apple do that?
