Dear Blick and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

By the way Edouard, your banner on the forum has not updated its weather information since 27 July. You need to take a spanner and fix that gear.

Okay I double-checked and WeatherCat is uploading the banner as it has since the feature was added.  [WCSmall]

The problem is our browsers once more sticking to an out-of-date cached image instead of the current one.  I remember something about this, but I thought Stu tried to fix this with the SMF forum software settings and obviously didn't succeed.  I guess we will have to periodically force our browsers to reload from the server to keep our banners current.

Definitely something of an annoyance . . . .

Oh well, . . . . . Edouard

Dear Blick, X-Air and WeatherCat observers of planet Earth,

Interesting graphic about carbon monoxide from the California fires spreading eastward. Much of the western U.S. is ablaze, including all around where I live.

Indeed a very interesting graphical presentation of satellite data.  Thanks for sharing!  [tup]

Interesting that there seems to be a lot of CO in the Pacific, due south of the west coast. It may be the result of extremely sensitive readings. Or a lot of large shipping traffic?

Unlikely to be a sensor error or anything to do with shipping.  Modern ships are extremely fuel efficient because that is the key to their profitability.  If I had to float a guess - could be coal burning in China?  As far as I know, the vast majority of power produced in China continues to be from coal.

Does anybody have the time to look into this?

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Sounds like any serious purchaser might need one of those 'caravans' full of cash... $13 million and don't even have enough oxygen to legally fly without an O2 mask! [banghead]

I didn't know it was on TV until the last stage. They rode right through Heber City where we stayed when visiting you. Beautiful area that they rode through. Afterwards, I looked at property at Wolf Creek Ranches. Only $1.5 million for an empty lot. Sounds like a steal! There was a nice home available for just under $13 million. I guess I need to take another trip out there to take a look. ;)

Wolf Creek Ranches is on the same mountain where we live; it is just further up the mountain. We are at 8300 feet, they are around 10,000. Where I live we use a PWS and WeatherCat. They have a live-in meteorologist who stays in the servants quarters.

I have been on the road side plenty of times for the Tour of Utah, but this year I was with my sons and grandsons watching the Astros play a homestand against the Mariners in Houston (baseball for my friends in Europe and elsewhere).

Hi John:

Welcome to the forum. Hope you are enjoying your new weather kit from Davis. I took a look at your website. Nicely done, mate. I have been close to your locale, I think. I was in Hull a few years ago. I think that is fairly close to you. Glad to christen you as our newest WeatherCatter.
