Edouard and all WC'ers:

All is well here...we are on a 4 acre plot protected by a forest of pines and birches, so the wind seems LOTS less. This beats the hell out of Tucson ANY DAY!
Maine is incredible, so glad to be here.

Thanks for the info! ThU32:-)

BTW, I've read that Caffiene is not compatible, are you still running that app? I am not, at present.

I never ran Caffeine. It's developer stopped updating it in about 2015 as I recall. It later came back to life, but I use, and am still running, its much better and fully-Mojave-compliant replacement cousin, Amphetamine. Without it, my iMac disregards the macOS sleep settings and takes a nap, which WeatherCat does not like.

Playing around with Dark Mode.
I gave up on it. Too many apps aren't built to support it and too many places in Apple's own interface aren't quite up-to-date with it. I still like black text on a white background, but I have updated from orange text on a green background... cmu:-)

Just upgraded from HIgh Sierra to Mojave. Smooth transition. WeatherCat purring like a kitten. Playing around with Dark Mode. Sounds sinister.

General Discussion / The Autumn wash and wax. (Re: Billy-goat station wagon!!)

Dear WeatherCat users who like their cars to be spick and span,

As someone who is constantly struggling to keep up all the things I need to do, it should be no surprise that I didn't manage to give my trusty wagon her fall wash and wax until this past Monday.  It is certainly the latest I've finished up with the cars.  I use a foaming sprayer as a pretreatment.  Somehow a car covered in soap suds reminds of me of how a dog looks utterly miserable when washed.  Here is Biquette from the front:

Here is the foam rolling off the tailgate:

It was cloudy on Monday and the weather was bad until Friday when the sun finally came out.  So I could finally photograph the fruits of my labors:

Here is the passenger side of the tailgate:

Here is the driver's side front:

Finally the driver's side view of the tailgate:

However late it was, Biquette did turn out very nicely!  [bounce]

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

P.S.It was a good thing that I took those pictures when I did.  Today the Tule Fog from the central valley spilled over into the bay area.  Definitely no sun today to show off that shiny wax!

Dear Jenna and WeatherCat climate watchers,

Ellsworth Maine USA

November was:

Cooler than average (33.8F versus an average of 52.1F) !!!!!
Wetter than average (6.73 in. versus an average total of 0.19) !!!!!
Windier than average (a wind run of 761 miles versus an average of 582 miles) !!!!

WOW! You had a busy November after all!  I do hope all is well at the ol' homestead after all that "in your face" weather.

Anyone else have some WeatherCat observations on climate that they would like to share?

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Thank you all so much for the kind replies. I genuinely appreciate it. Right now my thinking is that I am just going to start over with WC and forget the past. In the past, I would download the data logger data from my VERY old Weather Monitor 2 and use a bunch of applescripts I wrote to massage and manipulate the data into useful tables. It seems that WC can do all of this internally. I am having a lot of fun exploring all of the features.

Andy

And i am as usual, late to the party....but in spite of that....WELCOME ABOARD, ANDY!!!

Greetings from frigid Ellsworth Maine, today's new annual low temperature record of 3F!!!  [freeze]
