Add 10 minute wind direction to Custom CGI
« on: October 28, 2015, 11:11:41 PM »
I see that you have query variables for 10 minute speed, 10 minute gust, 10 minute gust direction but I don't see a 10 minute average for wind direction. For those of us with non-standard anemometer heights, gusts can switch directions quite a bit (or go missing for awhile). Winds are steadier and provide a better average.

It would be much appreciated!

On a related note, and also much appreciated would be the inclusion of wind chill in the CGI parameters as that changes frequently.

Thanks!

Added, thanks  [tup] Note however that derived variables generally won't be added as they can be computed on the server end.

I take it by "derived values" you mean wind chill? I found the Davis documentation (http://www.davisnet.com/product_documents/weather/app_notes/AN_28-derived-weather-variables.pdf) for derived values. However, it only lists the older formula (pre 2005 VP2 firmware). I don't see the current formula based on Steadman's work. I think I found it here, though: http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/full/10.1175/1520-0434%281998%29013%3C1187%3ATSWCAI%3E2.0.CO%3B2.

Thanks for all your help!
