Dear WeatherCat cautious netizens, . . .

The folks at the Pew Research Center have completed another study of people's attitudes towards privacy and information sharing:

http://www.pewinternet.org/2016/01/14/privacy-and-information-sharing/

The study appears to be well done and it offers some interesting snippets on how people view privacy.  On the one hand people seem reasonable about what can be considered private and what isn't.  On the other hand the public is very dissatisfied with how government and especially the shadier side of business use information.   If you have the feeling that spam and banner ads are violating what you thought you agreed to when signing up for an Internet service - you aren't alone.

It doesn't help the situation any, but at least it gives you some idea of what other people are experiencing and thinking on the subject.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
