Hi Folks

Here is the best my garden could do. Bit washed out by my iPhone camera so I brought up to its true beauty with iPhoto. Anyway seems worth posting.

Dear Irving and WeatherCat observers of the season's turning,

Here is the best my garden could do. Bit washed out by my iPhone camera so I brought up to its true beauty with iPhoto. Anyway seems worth posting.

Thanks for sharing!  It is surprising how difficult it is to photograph these autumn colors.  Ideally you need bright sunshine to bring out the intensity of color and you really need to catch the tree at exactly the right moment.

Cheers, Edouard

Dear WeatherCat observers of the seasons turning,

For good and bad reasons, the autumn colors haven't been very impressive here in Northern California.  Because of the unusually stormy weather, the leaves fall as soon as they turn.  Also, many trees are slow to turn.  It isn't very cold yet and the growing season around here can run into December.  Still here is a tree that usually makes a nice display:

That is probably about as nice a photo as I'll manage to take this year.  So if you folks can do better - go for it!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
