New App for Importing from weatherlink to WeatherCat
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:09:25 PM »
I have written an app. for the Mac to convert exported WeatherLink files to WeatherCAT.

It is simple to use and does the complete job so no editing of the files is necessary.
The app can be downloaded from www.fenendfarm.co.uk/WlinkToWcat.dmg

Lost WeatherLink souls? (Re: Importing from weatherlink to WeatherCat)
« Reply #4 on: February 06, 2017, 11:57:38 PM »
Dear Ken, Stu, Blick, and WeatherCat Faithful,

I could have sworn we had someone join the forum not that long ago with WeatherLink data that they wanted to import.  However, I've tried several searches and closest hits I'm finding after the current thread go back to 2013.  Can anyone else think of somebody with WeatherLink data that they wanted to import but couldn't?  I have this recollection of replying to someone that if they want to import their data all they needed to do was be patient.  If we could just find that person, he wouldn't have to be patient anymore!  [bounce]

Any clues on how to findi this lost soul would be appreciated!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Different data format (Re: Importing from weatherlink to WeatherCat)
« Reply #7 on: February 08, 2017, 12:02:55 AM »
Dear Blick, Ken, and WeatherCat "love all that data" types, . .

Is is this it, from Jonn68?

No it isn't.  His data was coming from his Meteohub and was in a spreadsheet data format (csv).  As far as I can tell, he was able to cobble his own conversion solution.

I distinctly recall someone who didn't feel up to putting together some scripts.  Oh well, I'll try to keep looking for it, but it is odd that Google can't ferret out this reference.  It should have the word 'WeatherLink' somewhere in the posting text.

Well hopefully it will be useful to others because having written it and used it I will never need it again!!!!!

Worry not Ken!  It doesn't come up very often, but there are folks either using the Mac version of WeatherLink or crossing over from PC and using the PC version.

Thanks again for making this available to the WeatherCat community!  [tup]

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Hi All
If I remember at one time long ago you could use LWC to import from Weather link then import the data from LWC to WC that was the only way to import from Weather Link

Thanks, Ken did send me the app. I am wrestling with getting the dates in my Westherlink file in the day/month/year format required by the app. Do you know whether I also have to convert my files to metric units?

That is a great question and unfortunately, I don't know the answer, but my guess is no, assuming your WeatherLink and WeatherCat units are both Imperial (not metric).
