10.10.5 and the Cat
« on: August 15, 2015, 04:13:19 PM »
Hi Cat Fans
Just upgraded to 10.10.5 and all seems well with it working with the Cat [WCSmall]
Also fixed some things that didn't match in Edouards scripts it now reads the correct version of the operating system
before it was always ahead by 1 ( it showed 10.10.5 for version 10.10.4) but that seems to be fixed and the memory  is so much closer readings that match Activity Monitor

cheers

I too, upgraded to 10.10.5 last night. Been running fine for 12 hours. This morning I upgraded to iOS 8.4.1 and the iOS clients for iPhone and iPad are purring away. I assume Steve beat both Randall and I to the upgrade. I suspect Steve has some kind of contract with Apple to be the first person on the planet to upgrade.

Dear Randall, Blick, and WeatherCat system admins, . .

Thanks for the info.  I'm just about out of memory once more so it is time to reboot.  I thought I might do the update and kill two birds with one stone.  After checking with Macintouch, it appears to be a reasonable thing to do.

Cheers, Edouard

But, yea, I probably did. :) I got a new 13" MacBook Pro Retina 512 GB last Thursday, and have been busy making it a near clone of my desktop iMac. I'm just not putting the weather stuff on it, movies (hosted on my desktop on Plex so all devices can watch), music (iTunes Match), etc. I'm using Cubby to sync files between them, and doing backups with Time Machine AND Carbon Copy Cloner AND Dropbox. So, yes, I updated three out of four Macs, two iPhones, and two iPads early on the day of release. Wanted to get it before the evening server slowdown.

Anyway, Mac OS X 10.10.5 is working great here with WeatherCat v2.2 build 280

On September 18, we will be heading to Seattle to take our youngest daughter to college. We plan on four days there, and then anywhere from two weeks to two months heading home. So I wanted something a little easier to work with on the road than my iPad. I've never had a laptop, and the keyboard is a little tough to get used to. I've used both daughters' and my wife's laptops for short periods, but never this long. Gonna take some time. And with the dislike of the new 12" MacBook's keyboard by a number of buyers, I wanted get this before the next MacBook Pro is updated to the new scissors keyboard.

I'm going to have to figure out how to access my iMac across the internet so I can fix things if needed.

Yes! Bittersweet to have the last one move out, but what a neat thing to be able to take your time getting home.

I've been using the free version of Teamviewer. If you set up the iMac for unattended remote control, you can login in from anywhere using your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook. I use a MacBookAir when I am away from home because it's too dang hard to try to remote control your iMac with just the touch screen on the iPad.

What you need . . . . (Re: 10.10.5 and the Cat)

Howdy, Steve, Blick, and WeatherCat adventurers,

On September 18, we will be heading to Seattle to take our youngest daughter to college.

'Tis da' season . . . My friend with the 1956 Buick Super and 1957 Chevy Bel Air is taking his only daughter up to Portland to start college there.

We plan on four days there, and then anywhere from two weeks to two months heading home. So I wanted something a little easier to work with on the road than my iPad.

;) . . . But wait a minute!  You need more than a laptop!  You need to follow Stu's lead (and my dreams) and get . . . . one of these!!
