Title: NOAA style reports
Post by: AstroSteve on October 12, 2014, 06:12:57 PM
A while back I created a script to create NOAA style reports from WeatherCat data. When V2 of WeatherCat came out, I noticed that my wind data has been reporting incorrectly.  With the option to report Snow added in this version, the format of the WCTtags file changed, everything after Rain in the STMONTHLY section was shifted over one column to make room for the Snow data.  If you have been using my script to create the NOAA files, you need to replace it with this updated one. If, like me, you didn't notice this change till after the end of last month, you need to recreate Septembers files from your database.  The files to do that are in the original post about these scripts, http://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=1096.0.

Thanks for the update Steve.  Was also able to use your scripts and WC V2 to bring the snow total pages to life.  http://www.cecilweather.com/wxsnowdetail.php?year=2014 (http://www.cecilweather.com/wxsnowdetail.php?year=2014)

Saved me a ton of work!

For anyone that does try to add the snow totals you have to remove the "-----" and replace with "00.00" for all days in the snow section of each climatedataout(x).html file.  Otherwise your barometer values for the wxnoaarecords.php will go crazy.

So, finally got your script going, and was looking at the reports generated, and something is clearly not right with the old data.

Check this one out, specifically "Rain".

Now, it seems whatever this issue was, was corrected in/around Oct of 2010. http://www.staze.org/weather/noaa/climatedataout102010.html

Thoughts?

Correction, it's still screwy elsewhere... something is seriously wonky with my data in WC, and it makes me very sad... =(
