Hello folks,
WeatherCat V3.0.2 is now available.
This is a maintenance update to address the following issues:
- Fixed an issue with display of coordinates in NOAA style reports
- Removed WeatherBug support as the service has shut down. See https://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=2749 (https://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=2749) for details
- Potential fix for an issue where heat index may display incorrectly on monthly report.
- Fix an issue where custom gauges may not render for custom web pages.
- Updates for macOS 10.14 as follows:
- a). Fix an issue where the historical download bar may not progress during the download from your logger.
- b). Fix an issue where the application icon may not render correctly.
As always, WeatherCat V3.0.2 is available for immediate download from our WeatherCat page at: https://trixology.com/weathercat/ (https://trixology.com/weathercat/) or if you are running WeatherCat V3.0.0 or later, you can wait for the update notification within WeatherCat. If you can't wait, you can hit the 'Check For Update...' menu item in the WeatherCat menu.

I spoke too soon. I later rebooted my Mac after a software upgrade on my Drobo. After that, WeatherCat locks up downloading data from the USB Data Logger. It gets anywhere from 3% to 20% and then beachballs. I're rebooted, replaced the prefs with older prefs, etc. But no joy.
Suggestions?

I too am noticing that since I updated to the newest version, I get about 23% downloading and it freezes up. Can I get the previous version back or a copy of it, if whatever the problem is and can't be fixed. I am losing valuable weather data.
I have even completely removed and then re installed the program and it still stalls on the download. So I got a brilliant idea and used a different logger (an IP) and it did the same thing.
I even used the time machine to go back to an earlier time... and nope, no way, no place. something is corrupt.
I am using Mojave , Fusion with the new APFS for fusion.

I also have the "Downloading Historical Data from Station" lock up. it gets about 10% (sometimes a little above or below) and locks up. Weather cat has not worked since 10/7/18. I've rebooted several times. It automatically restarts and I've force quit about 50 times now... bummer...Good luck finding the issue! I love the software!

@weatheraarvark and @jenkins007:
This morning I grabbed 3.0.1 from last Thursday's Time Machine backup. (I upgraded to 3.0.2 on Friday.) I deleted the active .plist file, rebooted, and stuck my archived .plist in the preference folder, rebooted again for good measure, and then launched WeatherCat 3.0.1
I initially thought it wasn't working, because I got the beachball and no progress showing in the progress bar. But after a few minutes, it finished downloading, and was working like normal.
By the way, I'd also tried deleting my .plist file completely, rebooting and running WeatherCat 3.0.2 as a new user, and it still locked on downloading data. So it wasn't a borked preference file.
Stu, Like Weatheraardvark, I also have a Fusion drive with the new file system on Mojave. Could there be something odd with that configuration?

About 3 am this morning, I had the idea to start over. I deleted everything Weathercat. I also cleared the archive in the logger. I "think" it works. I have data saved but as I say now, it is starting over from scratch . and I don't know if that will fix it in the long run

Steve, that issue of the non-progressing progress bar on 3.0.1 is a known issue, but with patience, as you discovered, it actually works.

Did you try to wait some 10 minutes or so? Maybe only the progress BAR is not responding but the progress goes on? :-[

I left mine going about six hours . I set it going before I went to bed and about six hours later we had not moved off the planet.

Yep, I know. It has been going on for several versions for me, so I was familiar. Waiting 30 minutes or more on 3.0.2 and still locked up though was not a good thing. :)

Did you go back to 3.0.1? That's working fine for me. Got it from my Time Machine, but also had it on my external Drobo.

Well Weasel Shorts... it is doing it again. What I have to do now is to force exit, then disconnect the logger from the computer. restart WC. change the comms, exit restart, connect the logger, select the station again in the comms. exit, restart.... this is silly

If you can get a hang report, that will be most helpful - to do this run Applications->Utilities->Activity Monitor. Then launch WeatherCat and wait for it to hang. Once you think it has hung, highlight it in the list of processes in Activity Monitor and then click the 'Sample Process' button. This will produce a report as a text file.
Here's a link to V3.0.1 - does it work ok on that (ignoring the fact that the progress bar may not update during the historical download)?

Just updated to Mojave with the same non-progressing bar with 3.0.2 after waiting over a hour.
Restored back to 3.0.0 and yes, progress bar did not move, but it finished downloading data quickly.
Then updated to 3.0.2 from within program. Seems to be running ok now, but of course there is no back data at this point.
If it happens again, I will try and capture a log file of the crash and go back to 3.0.1
Before updating I had NO problems with 3.0.2. *sighs*
[interesting]
PS. Also Fusion Drive in my bigMac
i had some comm problems, *have no idea WHY* and 3.0.2 started playing up again; so i reverted back to 3.0.1.
Things seem to be ok ....but am remaining on 3.0.1 for the forseeable future.

It seems, Mojave, 3.02, and Fusion Drive is something most of us with this problem have in common. I moved back to 3.0.1, let the files download, and then tried 3.0.2 again. That worked. ButI expect that the next time I have a backlog of info on the dat logger, it will lock up again.
