Hi, I live in Southampton UK in a house that backs onto the tidal part of the River Itchen. I have a small landing stage ("jetty") with a Davis weather station at the end of it. Until I retired in 2007 I was a research scientist at the National Oceanography Centre working on the interaction between the atmosphere and ocean - how the sea modifies the air in contact with it - so I have a bit of meteorological knowledge. I finally got fed up with the lack of Mac support from Davis and am now so glad I discovered WeatherCat. It really is some of the best software I've used for a long time.
I'm signing myself "SeaflyP" on the forum because I sail a Seafly sailing dinghy, a 1960's design which, despite being a joy to sail, is now out of fashion! A couple of years ago I set up a web site to document the history of the Seafly... "seaflymemories.org.uk" and now, thanks to WeatherCat, I've added some weather pages to the site ("St Denys Weather"). They have only been up a few days so are very much still "work in progress" and no doubt I'll be coming back to the forum seeking help with various questions!
Hope the present weather where you are is more exciting than here! Cheers, Peter
